Choosing your capacity
Bosch IDS inverter systems do not require separate half-ton outdoor units (such as 2.5 or 3.5 ton). Because the inverter compressor continuously modulates to match the load, the 3-Ton unit (BOVA-36) is field-switchable between 2.0 and 3.0 Ton, while the 5-Ton unit (BOVA-60) is field-switchable between 4.0 and 5.0 Ton via onboard DIP switches, seamlessly adapting to your home's ductwork and calculated heating/cooling load.
