The largest unit in Cana-Vac's Signature™ central vacuum line, for mid-size to large homes. The Cana-Vac Signature 790 (ACAN790A) pairs a 659-airwatt bypass motor with 3,680 mm (144.9 in) of water lift and a 23.3 L canister. You can run it with a disposable electrostatic bag or with the self-cleaning HEPA filter. It is the current model in the Signature series that replaces the earlier CV790 / LS790, made by Canavac in Blainville, Quebec.

Key features
- 659 AW bypass motor: one 2-turbine Ametek bypass motor, 3,680 mm (144.9 in) water lift and 230.7 m³/h (135.8 CFM) airflow.
- Bag or bagless: use a 22 L (5 US gal) heavy-duty electrostatic bag, or run bagless with the self-cleaning HEPA filter. Cana-Vac rates the Signature HEPA filtration at up to 99.97% of allergens at 0.3 microns.
- Large canister: 23.3 L (5.3 US gal), the biggest in the Signature line, so you empty it less often.
- Cooling intake muffler: Cana-Vac's intake muffler moves fresh air through the unit to keep the motor cool, and the exhaust has its own muffler.
- Built-in protection: a resettable circuit breaker on the unit, plus a low-voltage connector with an LED indicator.

Before you buy
- This is the power unit only. The hose, attachment kit, inlets and in-wall piping are sold separately. Cana-Vac sells attachment kits and garage kits for the Signature series, and installation kits (fittings, pipe, glue, low-voltage wire) through its service centres.
- Plug the unit into a dedicated, grounded 120 V circuit with an outlet within 1 m (3 ft) of the unit. Do not use an extension cord or adapter.
- Mount it on a wall where you can easily reach the canister, filter and bag, with at least 30 cm (12 in) of clearance as shown in the owner's manual. The unit is 99.3 cm (39.1 in) tall and 35.8 cm (14.1 in) in diameter.
- At 65 dB, the 790 is louder than the other Signature models (56 to 58 dB), which use thru-flow motors. If noise matters more than canister size, compare it with the Signature 690 (ACAN690A).
- If you are replacing an existing unit, check that the intake and exhaust positions line up with your current piping.
